A Little Something About My Big Sis

My sister’s presence filled every room she entered to overflowing, the breadth of her spirit only outmatched by the depth of her love. Her inner shyness was something never guessed at by those once exposed to her vast aura. Even near the end, uncommunicative and struggling to hold her head upright, she commanded the willing attention of everyone in the room.
As a textbook extrovert and the baby of the family, I should have outstripped any impact my sister – an introverted middle child – could ever have on a crowd; but her larger-than-life persona made that an impossibility, even had I begrudged her the honorific “princess” with which I dubbed her. The nickname may have been uttered playfully and at times in jest, but the truth of it was unmistakable.
Whether she was wielding her customized pool stick, or dressed to the nines, tastefully decorating a room for the party of a lifetime; digging through rock and dirt to bring forth breathtaking landscapes, or lounging in her ‘cozies’ to enjoy her favorite movie, my sister carried about her an air of royalty that even forgetfulness could not conquer. And while I will grieve the rest of my days for the beautiful life cut short in so brutal a manner, I will cherish the moments I spent in the presence of greatness even more.
Love you bunches and bunches and tons and tons, now and always!
Your Little Sis,
C
