Looking Forward in 2018

Happy 2018
Happy New Year!!

Abraham Hicks likes to remind us that our inner being never looks back. In fact, whatever is manifesting today is the result of a bygone vibration. She often describes the present reality or current manifestation as a piece of gum that has had all of the flavor chewed out of it. If Hicks is right, then for me to experience any kind of change, my vibration must change ahead of the manifestation. But humans have a difficult time not looking back. We find it almost impossible to take our attention off of what is in order to really focus on what could be. When we focus either on what was (past memories) or what is (current reality), we stay locked into old patterns of thought, action, and reaction. For me, a cursory examination of past and present realities is only useful for one thing: Identifying attitudes, patterns, and habits that I need to leave behind.

On December 8, 9, and 10th (2017), I had the privilege of attending the last Progressive Workshop to be held in this country by teacher and neuroscientist, Dr. Joe Dispenza. Over the course of the weekend, I (along with 700+ students) learned to use meditation to connect with and exercise the higher emotions of gratitude, appreciation, joy, and love.

Where you place your attention is where you place your energy.   Dr. Dispenza

What if I told you that it is absolutely possible to take your attention off of what is and what has been, and refocus instead on your hopes and dreams of a better future? That you can learn to feel the emotions of the future you desire before it manifests in real time? Quantum Physics has the ability to measure the vibration of atoms as a result of specific thoughts and emotions. Scientists in this field now are discovering that negative emotions can release harmful chemicals that cause cellular breakdown and lead to disease. There are countless testimonies from people who have experienced the kind of change you would expect to find only in fiction – healing cancer, manifesting a dream job seemingly out of thin air, and learning to love the most difficult people in their lives – just by thought alone.

There is so much that I am anticipating in the coming year. A new career, a trip to Ireland, and publishing my first novel. I bet you have high hopes for 2018 as well. But if all of our attention remains fixed on what went wrong last year, last election, last marriage, or last decade, if the people and things causing us emotional pain continue to capture and divide our attention, we will have no energy left to look forward in head (thought) or heart (emotion). We can have no hope for a new and better future. Living in the negative emotions of the past only creates more of the same, and that is the consummate definition of insanity.

If you are ready to free yourself from the negative thoughts and emotions of the past, please click on the link below to check out this downloadable meditation from Dr. Joe.

Changing Beliefs and Perceptions Meditation

In it you will learn how to begin freeing your energy from the emotions keeping you anchored to your past – the events, places, people and things that make up the story of who you believe yourself to be. By learning to let go of your past story and embrace the possibility of this right now moment, you will be able to focus your attention on the emotions that the fulfillment of your future hopes and dreams would bring. After all,

the only reason any of you desire anything manifested – a pile of money, a new relationship, or a new job – is because you believe you will feel better in the having of it.

If that’s true (and it is), and thoughts create emotions, then I can feel better right now just by choosing a better feeling thought!

Taking control of and responsibility for your inner world means you are no longer reacting to the things happening around you. In this way you can begin to live a life of contentment and creation.

My earnest hope for 2018 is an awakening like we have never seen before. May you discover the sleeping giant within yourself. May we all find the inner strength to leave behind the pain of the past and choose our heart’s future in this generous present moment. And may 2018 be filled with abundance, love, joy, and gratitude beyond anything we have ever dreamed possible.

Peace, love, and light to all,

~ Cindy
